But I highly doubt they're telling the truth, and if they are, they probably had to go one step further than what I'm willing to go to to make this work. And after I get the disk, is there maybe any other use for it other than to play old backups? Is the disk even necessary? While researching, I found posts from people who claim to have been able to play burned disks on their PS2 just by using a normal disk instead of Swap Magic combined with the tissue-straw-whatever mod. Is there anything I need to worry about before buying the disk? Is it more complicated than what is seems like on tutorials? Any limitations I need to be aware of perhaps? I already kinda know how you're supposed to use it, but is there any chance it might not work at all? If there is anything that could potentially go wrong while using the disk or anything I could do incorrectly, I'd like to know. The best alternative, from what it seems like, that works for all PS2s, is using a Swap Magic disk.
Unfortunately, it seems like you can't install FMCB on a SCPH-90004 PS2 slim, which is the one I have, and I'm not willing to use a modchip either. After a bit of research, I discovered the way to achieve it is by either installing FMCB or having a modchip. Recently, I found out that you can play old backups or even burnt games on your PS2.
